Since 2020, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd, together with their Partners in Mission, have been working to promote peace, harmony, and inclusivity in response to the growing incidents of hatred and division among people of different faiths and caste groups.

At the heart of this mission lies the belief that interfaith dialogue is a powerful tool for building understanding and solidarity.

Through these initiatives, the ICDS Project seeks to build resilient communities grounded in inclusivity, equality, and mutual respect. Guided by the core values of the Indian Constitution, the programme strives to eliminate bias and discrimination while empowering communities to address conflicts peacefully at the grassroots level.

Key Components of the Peace Mission:

  • Peace Education – Providing value-based peace education to students in secondary schools, higher secondary schools, and colleges
  • Community Empowerment – Initiating and training community groups and peace committees in conflict resolution skills, enabling them to handle disputes constructively.
  • Dialogue and Networking – Bringing together leaders of different religions and social groups to foster dialogue and resolve conflicts arising from caste, religion, or gender differences.
