Economic Justice

In today’s changing social and economic landscape, it has become essential for women to play an active role in supporting their families. Many women, especially those from low socio-economic backgrounds, face systemic barriers that limit their opportunities for education, employment, and financial independence. Promoting economic justice for these women is not just about providing income—it is about empowering them to lead lives of dignity, contribute meaningfully to their households, and participate confidently in community life. By addressing the root causes of poverty and inequality, the Sisters of the Good Shepherd seek to create pathways for women to achieve self-reliance and long-term security.

To improve their economic status, targeted training programmes are offered to equip women with practical and marketable skills.

They are trained in tailoring, goat-rearing, and the establishment of small business units, enabling them to generate a steady income. Beyond technical skills, the programmes also emphasize financial literacy, entrepreneurship, and self-confidence, helping participants understand how to manage resources, access markets, and grow their enterprises. These initiatives not only enhance household earnings but also strengthen the women’s ability to make independent decisions, contribute to their communities, and break the cycle of poverty for future generations.
